Travelling
Travelling in April to Vila Real, Portugal
The best way will
be to fly to the AIRPORT FRANCISCO SÁ CARNEIRO, in PORTO. You can do
it from most places in Europe! Arriving at Porto, you can travel to Vila Real
quite easily. Here are the basic instructions:
Take a taxi to the RODONORTE bus Station in the center of Porto (it will cost about 20 euros and take 30-45 minutes)
or
Take an Airport bus to the center of Porto (about 5 euros and no less than 45-60 minutes) and once there ask for the RODONORTE bus station (Travessa do Ateneu Comercial, perpendicular to Rua Passos Manuel)
At the bus station RODONORTE, there are buses to Vila Real between 6.50h in the morning to 22:30h at night, during the week, with the following schedules:
Weekdays: 9:00/10:00/12:10/13:00/14.20/14:50/16:30/17:35/18:00/19:30/20:00/21:00/22:30.
On Saturday, the schedule is different: 6:50/10:00/14:20/16:30/18:00/19:30/21:20.
The bus costs about 5 euros and takes 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Another possibility, if you find 2 or 3 partners coming to the Symposium, is to take a taxi directly from the Airport to Vila Real. It will cost about 120 euros (maximum 4 people)! Once in Vila Real, you can walk to the Hotel, or in case you reserved a room at Quinta do Paço, take a taxi (about 5 euros).
